The Fame Ball Tour is the first concert tour by Lady GaGa.The tour is to promote her debut studio album, The Fame. All the scheduled dates are in North America (U.S.A. and Canada).
GaGa announced the tour on January 12 2009 through her official MySpace. It’s her first headlining tour, she has previously served as opening act for the New Kids on The Block’s ‘The New Kids on the Block : Live Tour‘. as well as for The Pussycat Dolls ‘World Domination Tour‘.GaGa stated ‘I consider what I do to be more of an Andy Warhol concept: pop performance art, multimedia, fashion, technology, video, film. And it’s all coming together, and it’s going to be traveling museum show.’
On an interview to MTV News she described the tour as ‘…not really a tour, it’s more of a traveling party. I want it to be an entire experience from [the] minute you walk in [the] front door to [the] minute I begin to sing. And when it’s all over, everyone’s going to press rewind and relive it again. It’s going to be as if you’re walking into New York circa 1974: There’s an art installation in the lobby, a DJ spinning your favorite records in the main room, and then the most haunting performance that you’ve ever seen on the stage’.
Tickets got sold out in certain cities shortly after ticket sales begun, so, it was added a second night in some cities. In some cities, the tour will be played twice at the same night due to no possibility of adding a second date in the venue.
The Show
The show is mainly divided intro three parts. The show starts with Lady GaGa saying ‘My name is Lady GaGa, and this is my house.’ and talks about The Fame in a futuristic concept in the ‘Haus Of GaGa.’After the introduction video ends GaGa says ‘Wait for your life to be changed.’ and the screen drops and she appears in the center of the stage wearing a futuristic dress in geometric patterns singing ‘Paparazzi‘ (picture left), after it GaGa sings a medley of ‘Starstruck‘ and ‘LoveGame‘ as her dancers join her, the performance ends with ‘Beautiful, Dirty, Rich‘ this ends the first part and then the second part begins with a video introduction talking about dance-pop with the song ‘The Fame‘ being played remixed in the background.
In the second part, GaGa appears in the stage wearing a white leotard with lightning shaped symbols(last picture of this page on right) on it and starts “Money Honey‘ and the screens in the back shows money being made.As the songs ends GaGa disappears for a few seconds and then comeback riding a Vespa(first picture of this page on right) performing ‘Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)‘.Next Space Cowboy appears on the stage presenting a remix interlude where GaGa and he at first has a jamming session and later only he performs as Gaga leaves for a costume change.
In the third part, GaGa appears in the stage wearing a dress made of plastic bubbles (picture right), she signs a piano version of ‘Poker Face‘ and after plays ‘Future Love‘, a new song she introduced in the tour, after it GaGa sits out of the piano, her dancers join her to perform ‘Just Dance‘, after it GaGa sings ‘Boys Boys Boys‘ and after the actual version of ‘Poker Face‘.She disappears into a pillar after the song while the songs’ Mum-mum-mum-mah hook is being played. After GaGa disappears the screens shows her trademark quote ‘Pop Music Will Never Be Low, Brow‘ and the show ends.

Critical Reception
The tour received positive reviews for the live performance of GaGa but the whole concept of outfits were mild criticised, but video interludes and backdrops were badly criticised.
Yahoo! gave a positive review of the concert: ‘Gaga’s first theater tour is a hot ticket — and the Lady did not disappoint. Borrowing from Madonna, Grace Jones, David Bowie and Daryl Hannah’s “Blade Runner” replicant, Gaga put on a compelling show revolving around her mysterious persona, a trio of leather-jacketed dancers, multiple costume changes and props and a lone DJ providing musical accompaniment.’
Entertainment Weekly criticised GaGa’s onstage banter saying it was a bit silly and said the visuals were lacking in coherent theme, However, the potential of her voice received good critics, ‘her voice was strong and refreshingly free of overbearing tracking vocals[...]The girl can, and does, sing.’
